Available to stream on Roku Retro Reels
Our last shipboard film of the month is the Pre-Code classic, One Way Passage. In this shipboard romance of two doomed people, fugitive Dan (William Powell) and seriously ill Joan (Kay Francis) enjoy their last days of happiness together.

Why we love it: William Powell is wonderful as the suave gentleman crook and Kay Francis is always so glamorous. They are a fantastic onscreen couple.

Fun Facts:
Kay Francis was a fashion icon of the early 1930’s. She and William Powell were a popular screen couple at that time. This was their sixth film together and the most commercially successful of all their films.
One Way Passage won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay.
The film was remade (almost exactly) as 'Til We Meet Again in 1940 with Merle Oberon and George Brent, though the remake wasn't as successful as the original.
